The brief for this project was to design an album cover for a Megafauna special issue of a scientific journal. I wanted to display a rough, yet slick, yet older looking style to the art which is why my color scheme is quite neutral. Also, neutral colors are more professional and I think that a science journal is pretty professional.
Megafauna means large animals. So why wouldn't I incorporate a large mammoth and huge font in my design?

In the end I came up with this. I think its pretty quirky yet professional at the same time. I always like to try and draw out my designs by hand because they give them more character (I think) and for this particular contest, character way key.")

The way I went with my design here is I wanted it to be \"box like\" so I drew out a square and symmetrical looking flower. I also wanted it to be unique and have some character to it so instead of making the flower look like an icon, I drew the flower by hand and it gives it a more personal feel.")
