Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO)
UNPO is a human rights organisation, whose members are indigenous and minority groups all over the world. The website is targeted at our members and the general public, and aims at showcasing our work (activities, publications, etc.) and member-related news, while also giving general background information about our organization.
[See the attachment for more details]
The current website has an outdated layout and poor graphic elements. As regards the colors, we think it would be good to work around the colors of the UNPO logo, while keeping it quite sober but with possibilities of variations (tones of blue are a good idea, for instance). We would also like to use our website to highlight the richness of our members' culture, having the possibility to use high-resolution photos (as is the case on https://www.collectif-sante-mondiale.fr/). In genera;, we would like to have a website which, somehow, would convey the authenticity of UNPO.
Front page: Our logo should be given more importance; it should be one of the first things you see when arriving on the website. There should be an area announcing upcoming event(s), an area to subscribe to our newsletter, a "Donate to UNPO" button, Twitter feeds and link to other Social Media. There should be a large space for photos associated with our top news. Our partner organizations should be well showcased. See the old homepage for more details on what the homepage should include.
Nations & Peoples: As the central role of UNPO is to raise awareness of the many unknown and unrepresented peoples around the world, the word map with the pins should look interesting, friendly and catchy, while fitting in with the rest of the website's design. When coded, clicking on the pins should lead the reader to the page of the member (as is the case on our old website). The pins could be the flag of the respective member, for instance.
UNPO News: A list of articles of UNPO Publications (see old website under Publications/Reports). The sidebar should include a search area and, potentially, an option to search for publications by month/year and/or by member.
