Called Upon is a thriller book. It takes place at a summer camp in the Rocky Mountains. The main character is a young girl with freckles and long, honey-colored hair. The book has a dark subject matter, but is actually pretty playful too.

The client was looking for an artistic and modern representation of the place including a feminine and abstract main character. The title needed to be a modern, trendy font more like a handwritten style.

So I went with a custom hand lettered title and an earthy moody vibe, including the main character in the foreground.
Also I included the back cover of the book, which had a matching illustration style, portraying a more detailed view of the mountains.
