Funky logo for a kids football club (4 yr olds to 18 yr olds) to go on hoodies and training tops etc

Enniskerry Football Club

I am the club secretary of Enniskerry FC and Irish underage football club http://www.enniskerryfc.ie/ , which means I am the main administrator of the club.
I am looking to refresh our club logos.

We are a football (soccer) club for girls and boys. We have 400 children. Aged from 4 up to 18 years of age. And we have a small adults section. We are run by volunteers. They are usually parents of the children in the club.

I am about to make live a new online club shop. We are going to have a wide selection of quality Nike sporting training gear.

I want to refresh our logos so that they can be incorporated into our training gear.

Who is the audience?
Three sides.
Child club member: One is the child who is going to wear the clothing.
Parent of child: Another is the parent who is going to pay for the clothing
Non-member: The third audience is other children and parents, who aren’t currently members of the club, who we want to attract as new members.

Do you have a particular aesthetic in mind for the logo?

I want it to be a ‘cool’ and up to date crest. Something that we can put on the backs of tracksuits and hoodies and on our website, and people see it say ‘I want to be a part of their club, it looks awesome’ or the child whether aged 8, 12, or 16 is happy to wear it as part of their leisure wear (i.e. their free time, to school, on holiday).

We are 40% girls, 60% boys, which is unusual to have such a good mix of girls and boys. So it needs to appeal equally to girls and boys.

We also have some players - mainly girls - who go on to play football at international level.

So as a club it's a combination of our friendly face of being a 'community club' open to all people regardless of age, gender, background, religion etc - and at the same time, we're about pushing children to achieve the very best that they can do (in our case through football), excellence in their lives - as well as having awesome fun along the way!

Our club colours are usually red and white stripes (for match gear). However the logo should is doing to go on red training tops and hoodies (mainly) though we have some black clothing which it goes on too. But red and white and big part of our colours. Doesn't have to be the only colours though.

I like the idea of the logo being a bit more like an American football team logo, more funky and cool. Remember, this logo is going to be ironed on to the backs of hoodies, I want it be memorable, but smart.
